So far on Candiace Dillard’s first season on The Real Housewives of Potomac, her upcoming wedding to “susband” Chris Bassett has been her major story line. She readily shared with the other housewives that her mother is paying for the whole shindig and that it’s her mother who’s being a bridezilla. After the other women started asking more questions about her finances, Candiace also shared that her mother pays for half of the mortgage on the townhome that she and her fiance live in. Candiace explained that her mother pays for half since she uses it like a vacation home when she comes visit them.
Not surprisingly, some of the housewives had some not so positive things to say about Candiace’s mom financing such big parts of her life. In particular, Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon and Charrisse Jackson Jordan threw some pointed remarks at Candice. So are any of those housewives getting a wedding invite given their snark?
During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday night, Candiace provide a wedding update. She wasn’t shy to admit that wedding planning has been a “f**king nightmare.”
“Wedding planning is a f**king nightmare. But we’re making it through. It’s like happening. It’s this year. It’s like three months away. We’re gonna make it.”
As for who’s getting an invite, Candiace said everyone except for Gizelle.
“I plan to invite, at this moment, every one is invited except for Gizelle. That could change. Somebody shades me, you out. So we’ll see what happens.”
Hmmm…”plan to invite.” So does that mean that invites haven’t gone out yet even though the wedding’s only three months away?
On Twitter on Sunday night, Gizelle Bryant and Candiace Dillard actually traded some barbs. Candiace, not happy about Gizelle making fun of her for having a mom who pays for a lot in her life, reminded everyone that Gizelle’s husband paid for everything, to which Gizelle responded with a joke.
Some people were quite confused by Candiace’s tweet. They pointed out that Jamal was Candiace’s husband and they had children together, children that Gizelle took care of, so why would it be wrong that Jamal paid for everything? To one of these questions, Candiace made it clear that there’s nothing wrong with a mother financially helping her child and her child accepting that help.
With all this back and forth shade, does Gizelle Bryant even want to go to Candiace Dillard’s upcoming wedding? Maybe not.
